Symptoms Of A Failed Power Electronic Module
The power electronic module converts high voltage DC from the hybrid battery into AC for the electric motor and back again when the motor acts as a generator, and it steps voltage down for the 12 V system. When it fails, the hybrid system cannot start the engine or charge the battery.

Many online listings for this module advertise a 1 year warranty. eBay's own buyer protection ends 30 days after delivery; past that, the warranty is whatever the seller decides to honor. We hear from S400 owners every month whose module from another seller failed a few months in, who could not get a reply, and who are now paying for the part and the labor a second time. Installation Notes
- • High voltage. Disable the hybrid system and confirm zero voltage at the module before disconnecting anything, exactly as shown in the video. Wear insulated gloves. This is not a job to improvise.
- • Check the 12 V battery first. A weak 12 V battery causes hybrid faults that look like a module failure. Test and charge it before condemning anything.
- • Inspect the connectors and cooling lines when the old module is out. Corrosion or a coolant leak at the module will take out the replacement too.
- • Scan afterward. Clear the stored hybrid codes and confirm the car enters Ready mode and charges. The UCAN-II Pro reads the S400 hybrid modules.

Read the codes with a scanner that reaches the hybrid modules. Codes in the power electronics or inverter control unit, DC to DC converter faults, or communication faults between the power electronics and the battery point here. Codes about cell voltage, cell balance or battery state of health point to the battery. If you are not sure, email the codes and VIN to support@youcanic.com before you order.
Does it need programming or coding?
Install it and scan the car. If the module needs a coding step for your VIN our technicians will walk you through it; call us when the part is in the car.
Do I need to send my old module back?
Contact us before you order if you have a core to return; we will tell you the current arrangement.
Does the price include installation?

What if the car still does not start after the module is installed?
Call us with the new codes. The usual causes are a weak 12 V battery, a hybrid battery that was also failing, or a connector problem. We diagnose these every week and will help you find it.
How does a warranty claim work?
Email or call with your order number and the codes. We confirm the failure with you, you ship the module back to Baltimore, and we send a replacement. Labor and return shipping are the only costs not covered.
