Let customers speak for us
from 380 reviewsSo i compared this to my trusted autel mk900bt, and heres an honest review, i paid for the unit myself, and despite having talks with support, and even the company founder himself, i wasnt able to score any freebies haha.
Pros that the youcanic beat the autel-
1. For live data, all the live data values have a recommended parameter value, example: if your one sensor is reading 10mv, and you have no clue what that means, the youcanic will tell you it should be .9-.11 indicating it's all good(i dont know if every bit is 100%, but i assume its all a great guideline)
2. Topology, i spoke to the support team who told me the topology works by actually communicating with the vehicle and plotting out the map of the systems, unlike something like Xtools that just takes a wild guess, although i do think topology is overated, and always has the risk of sending you down a wrong path, it's still good and cool to have over not having it.
3. Free updates, doesn't look like youcanic os going under soon, so that's a huge plus, they seem to care about their product.
4. Autovin scan is not subscription or Internet based, meaning you should be able to connect and automatically scan a vehicle without internet connection, without choosing make, model, submidel/ typing in vin, nice plus if you're mobile and dont have a good hotspot.
5. Scan time of vehicle (detecting vehicle and running diagnostics) takes roughly the same time as autel, 2 minutes. Some cars it was a few seconds faster, some slower.
6. Ive looked into all the scan tools, and this is the best bang for the buck, I'd avoid xtools/ gear wrench, not a fan of topdon, thinkacar, as they are a bit pricey and you should just chose autel, ancel/ foxwell are underwhelming, and autel (mk/ mx 900) is the only other scantool I'd chose for the $500ish range, it is about $50 more than this.
7. Although the autel has some fancy shop management features that kinda beat the youcannic, the youcanic's shop management set up seemed good enough and many times simpler from my quick messing around with, and I feel like it's easier and fine vs the autel.
Now some cons that ive already talked to the company about and they listened to my concerns quite genuinely.
Currently (may be subject to change):
1. The case sucks, the latches are junk and you must use both hands to pry them open when closing the case, and although the scan tool/ dongle wont get banged up, they kinda just sit in their own compartment and wiggle around, feels cheap, and the charger works, but looks sketchy.
2. The hardware is much weaker than the slightly more expensive autel, same storage, but weaker and cheaper quality CPU, smaller/ inferior battery, less/ older gen RAM, worse camera, lower res screen, ect... despite the considerably worse specs, it still seems to perform great when new (minus camera), that being said, i am going to assume after a few years the scan tool may becoming more sluggish, or have hardware issues before the autel, i dont know it that will be 3, 5 or 10 years from now. But it is a factor i considered.
3. While you can find the odemeter reading from each system that stores that data, such as ECU or ABS, you must navigate to diagnostics, run a scan, choose one system, go to live data and scroll through the menu and hope you can find "distance traveled" and read that, and let's say this is some used vehicle you might want to look at a couple other sensors to make sure they all read the same and that nothing was spoofed or replaced, the autel has a "hot function" easy to get to, that reads every system for its distance traveled reading and displays it in a row so you can compare everything to make sure although Domino readings align with each other. Again the youcannic can do the same thing, but the autel is much quicker and better of this is important to you, the team at youcannic said they will look into this.
4. Some active tests seem a bit less refined, and may possibly have you scratching your head, and what I mean by this is certain tests such as sunroof opening and closing with the autel, you tell the autel to open sunroof, and the sunroof opens all the way with one button push, the youcannic on the other hand will only open the center roof about 1 or 2 in per click. So while it can control the module, it sends more of a pulse than a constant signal until the operation completes/ is terminated, I can only imagine there can be certain jobs you're trying to figure out where this will leave you wondering if that is supposed to happen or not, another thing i let support know about.
Tldr. If you're just a diyer who wants something good enough, feature packed for the price, so subscriptions, and is designed for the non-professional while offering near pro level stuff, I'd go with this.
This scanner was working better than expected, I am very happy with it. I have already bought multiple products from YOUCANIC and all have been incredible. Will continue recommending and purchasing their products! 10/10
As someone who frequently tackles automotive diagnostics and repairs, I'm consistently on the lookout for tools that bridge the gap between enthusiast-level capabilities and professional-grade performance. The YOUCANIC Pro OBD2 Scanner – Advanced Full-System Diagnostic Tool has not only met but exceeded my expectations, proving to be an indispensable asset in my toolkit.
From the moment I began using this scanner, its "dealer-level access" was immediately apparent. Unlike many consumer-grade OBD2 tools that offer limited insight, the YOUCANIC Pro truly delivers on its promise of comprehensive full-system diagnostics for "all makes." I've successfully used it across a range of vehicles, from everyday commuters to more specialized models, and each time, it has provided a depth of information previously only accessible with much more expensive, brand-specific equipment.
The "bi-directional controls" feature is a significant standout. This functionality allows not just for reading fault codes but also for actively commanding various components and systems, enabling more thorough testing and troubleshooting. This is a massive time-saver and provides a level of diagnostic precision that is crucial for accurate repairs. Whether it's cycling ABS pumps, performing relearns, or testing actuators, the YOUCANIC Pro handles it with impressive ease.
Another truly remarkable benefit is the "free lifetime updates." In the ever-evolving automotive landscape, having a diagnostic tool that stays current with new vehicle models and software protocols without additional recurring costs is a huge advantage. This commitment to ongoing support from YOUCANIC ensures the scanner remains relevant and effective for years to come.
The user interface is intuitive and well-organized, making complex diagnostic procedures surprisingly straightforward. Even for those new to advanced scanning, the learning curve is minimal, allowing users to quickly leverage its powerful features.
While my experience has been overwhelmingly positive, it's reassuring to know that YOUCANIC prioritizes customer satisfaction. Their explicit invitation for feedback and dedicated support team at [****] demonstrates a genuine commitment to their users.
In conclusion, if you're a serious DIY enthusiast, a small garage owner, or anyone looking for a robust, feature-rich, and future-proof diagnostic tool, the YOUCANIC Pro OBD2 Scanner is an exceptional investment. It delivers professional-grade capabilities at a fraction of the cost, making it a truly valuable addition to any automotive diagnostic arsenal. Highly recommended!
Bought the Youcanic Ucan-II-C to use on various car's, so far I have tested it on a 02 GMC Envoy and an 06 BMW E66.
I was able to quickly diagnose and find all issues and do the appropriate repairs and successfully clear the code for each repair.
Very pleased with this purchase! The build quality is very durable and should easily last a long while.
Good performance for low wait times, I was surprised how quick it completes each task.
Also like the support options while connected to wifi for each code that appear, if you need this is handy.
Video scope works great and does capture.
Wireless OBD is also nice for working under the hood+ live data options.
I definitely recommend Youcanic full diagnostic scan tool, Amazing Features and Amazing Support for an Amazing price.
I also wanted to say the Support Team at Youcanic shipping is top notch 5 star service.
Speciaythanks to Olivia & Melisa + Youcanic shipping Team! Much Thanks To you all
Chris.
This heavy duty truck scanner went above and beyond what I expected. Build quality is excellent, and I really like that it comes with a solid carrying case to keep everything in one place. I tested it on my truck and two work semi-trucks, and so far I have been impressed. It’s super easy to set up, touchscreen works great, and it gives you diagnostics fast and clear. If you own a truck, this thing is super useful — I’d say it’s a must have. Beats scanners from the competition that cost $2k or more.
Saves trips to the dealer for diagnostics and maintenance that you can do yourself. After careful consideration and research, I chose YOUCANIC and you should to! I called 4 of the big scan tool manufacturers and found the majority were all manufactured in basically the same location. However, YOUCANIC had a significantly different approach to solving malfunctions focused on the end user with how to assistance and minimizing out of pocket cost after purchase. No annual subscriptions, instant access to diagnostic reports, videos, one on one troubleshooting assistance and more. I fixed all the issues with my son’s car in a week after purchase and the cost savings covered the cost of the unit, now each additional is money in the bank. You can spend more for the same functionality so long as you pay associated fees year after year and settle for lackluster performance or you can skip that, get customer support directly from people who just want to help you get back on the road. Buy the YOUCANIC, save money, and be pleasantly surprised.
First attempt. 2008 Prius SRS issue with passenger light stuck in off for years . After connecting and going in and out this issue was corrected and my TPMS system was reset as well . The software did what it was suppose to do . An amazing investment and the staff was always quick to return on a call away . Highly Recommended .
This scanner has great functions and it's easy to use. I take care of vehicles for my extended family and some friends. So far I've diagnosed a wheel speed sensor on a 2017 BMW 230 (diagnosed incorrectly by dealer at a cost of $180.00 just for scanning) the real time output display was great, a glow plug on a 2006 GMC Duramax, and O2 sensors on a 2007 Buick Terraza. And also reset maintenance messages after performing oil changes and installing new brakes. It connects quickly with the smart vin and the battery in the scanner seems to have a very good working time.
I received my scanner about a week and a half ago and immediately use it to diagnose an ABS sensor light that was on my daughters Kia Sorrento that the other scanners we had were unable to read or find a code. This scanner immediately pinpointed the bad wheel sensor and we were able to fix it in a few minutes.
Seems sturdy and the battery lasts a long time on a charge so I am looking forward to using this in the future!
Five stars all the way. I’m a small business owner: This is the first scanner I have ever owned. In the past three weeks: Mercades ABS light was on. Mercades told me I needed all four ABS sensors replaced. I decided to purchase the Youcanic scanner. Result, I only one sensor was bad (I replaced it). On my first repair, Youcanic saved me $2,700.00. I also figured out that I had a bad clock spring in two other vehicles (easy to change) and a bad ABS sensor in another. Cold weather would not allow a service truck to start. With a little research, the Youcanic scanner shower me what was the problem (fixed). Best purchased I ever made.
The bi-directional communication is really the greatest thing to have when using a scanner. This scanner is very easy to use. Well thought out controls. Very durable.
The only thing I would like is, when using “Live Data” split the screen so that more data can be viewed at one time. Oh, the battery drains fairly quickly (couple of hours of use) although, I don’t have another brand scanner to compare it to, this could be normal. Only recognized VIN on 2 of 5 vehicles. I had to type in the VIN then the information popped up. Not a big problem.
Customer service was fantastic. The scope switch wasn’t mounted properly. Youcanic sent a new camera. It arrived in a couple of days.
Thanks Youcanic for a great product and great customer service. You folks should be very proud of your product. Good Job.
First, I decided to buy this product because of the professional reviews I read. I used the Youcanic on a 2004 S430, as it was having issues with "Airmatic Visit Workshop." YouTube was leaning towards replacing the Air Valve Block, however the Youcanic identified B22/9 Right Level Sensor. After a closer inspection, the component did need to be replaced and the issue was resolved. I have 2015 Audi, 2016 Silverado and 1999 Mustang, so this has been and will be money WELL spent. Got it, Get it, you will Love it.
I rented the scanner to troubleshoot my 2012 Mercedes GL550, no start problem. I was skeptical until I tried it. I was able view the real-time data as I turned to key in the ISM, which showed me that the ISM was not sending the signal to the start relay to allow it to start. I was able to repair the ISM, that had a broken connector and was able to see the signal from the ISM to the relay. The car still wouldn't start, so I went further, and found that the starter was also bad. I was very pleased to save a bunch of money, even with the rental fee, taken into consideration.
The only thing I had an issue with was the fact that the scanner wasn't able to test the starter, which I had to remove and het tested. I liked it so much that I bought one, with no hesitation. Even woth the purchase price plus the rental fee, it was much cheaper than letting the Dealer/Stealer fix the problems. Lol
The YOUCANIC UCAN-II-B PRO Full System Scanner is an awesome tool. It paid for itself on my first use. We have 5 cars from 1997 to 2021 and it works with all of them. On my GMC Sierra Denali, I was having issues with Stabilitrak and once I plugged this in, it was obvious that I had a grounding issue. I did not have to spend hours on it as we started with the battery and found that a ground had become loose. Way cheaper than the dealership.
Had an issue with my Dynamic Multicontour seats in my S600. The scanner identified the issue and with the ability to reset error codes and then provocating the error over and over i was finally able to locate the root cause: a broken air-pipe in the driver seat. Was able to fix this myself. Love the scanner. Robust and easy to use.
I highly recommend this to the home mechanic. I had a few issues to sort out on my 08 volvo and this was the way to finish out my work.
I set the transmission to learn, recalibrate the ac system, sorted out my haldex AWD, got rid of my airbag warning, and cleared up a traction control issue.
Plus cleared out old codes from over the years.
It's easy to use and was in new condition.
The company is easy to work with also.
