Older Car, No Bluetooth, No AUX? Stream Through The Radio And Charge Three Devices From One Socket.
This plugs into the 12 V socket, pairs with your phone over Bluetooth 5.0 and broadcasts to an empty FM frequency, so your music, podcasts and navigation voice come out of the car's own speakers. It also takes calls through a built in microphone, and it is a 36 W charger with two USB-A ports and a USB-C port, enough to keep a phone, a passenger's phone and a UCAN-II Pro tablet or jump starter topped up while you drive.
Is An FM Transmitter The Right Fix For Your Car?
An FM transmitter is the universal answer because every car has a radio, but it is not the best sounding answer. It broadcasts over the air to your own antenna, so in a city with a crowded FM band you may hear a little hiss on some frequencies and need to change the station when you drive to another town. Before you buy, check which of these you have:
- A Mercedes Media Interface, Audi AMI or VW MDI socket in the glovebox or armrest (common on 2008 to 2013 Mercedes, Audi, VW, Skoda and Seat): the YOUCANIC 1000 plugs into it and feeds the stereo directly, with no radio interference at all.
- A 3.5 mm AUX jack: a Bluetooth receiver that plugs into the jack will sound cleaner than FM. We do not sell one, and we would rather tell you that than sell you the wrong part.
- Neither, just a radio and a 12 V socket: this is your part. It is also the right pick for a work truck or a rental where you want one plug in device that handles music, calls and charging.
Expect good, not audiophile, sound. For podcasts, navigation and everyday music it is plenty.
Setup In A Minute
- Plug it into the 12 V socket with the ignition on. The display lights up with an FM frequency.
- Find an empty FM frequency on your car radio, one with pure static and no station, at either end of the dial if you are in a city.
- Set the transmitter to the same frequency with its buttons.
- Pair your phone from the phone's Bluetooth menu.
- Press play. Volume comes from the car radio; use the transmitter's buttons to skip tracks or answer a call.
If you hear hiss, try another empty frequency; the quiet spots differ from town to town. Keep your phone's volume near maximum and set the listening level with the car's knob.

Frequently Asked Questions
Will the sound be as good as a wired connection?
No. FM is the lowest fidelity way into a car stereo, which is the trade for working in every car ever made. On a clear frequency it sounds like a good FM station. If your car has an AUX jack or a media socket, use those instead; see the box above.
I hear static or another station bleeding in. What do I do?
Pick a different empty frequency, ideally at the far low or high end of the dial, and match it on both the radio and the transmitter. In big cities you may need to try a few. Turn the phone volume up and the car volume down to improve the signal to noise.
Can two phones connect?
One phone streams at a time. A second phone can pair when the first disconnects.
Will it charge my UCAN-II Pro?
Yes. Plug the tablet's USB-C cable into the transmitter's USB-C port, or a USB-A port with the matching cable, and it charges while you drive to the next car. The jump starter charges the same way.
Does it stay on when the car is off?
That depends on the car. Many vehicles cut power to the 12 V socket with the ignition; some keep it live. If yours stays live, unplug the transmitter when you park for a long stretch so it is not drawing from the battery.
What if it does not work out?
Return it within 31 days for a refund. Email support@youcanic.com or call 1-888-959-4265 with your order number.
