Peak Amps Are Not The Whole Story
Every jump starter advertises a big peak amp number. What matters when the engine is actually cranking is the engine size rating and whether the clamps protect you from mistakes. Keeping It Ready
- • Top it up every three months if it has not been used. Lithium packs self discharge slowly; a quarterly charge keeps it at full strength.
- • Cold weather. Like every lithium battery it delivers less when frozen. In winter keep it in the cabin rather than the trunk, or warm it in your coat for a few minutes before a jump.

Will it start my truck or diesel?
Gasoline engines up to 10.0 liters and diesels up to 8.0 liters on a 12 V system, which is every passenger car, SUV and full size pickup, including the 6.7 L diesels. It is not for 24 V trucks or equipment.
How many jumps on one charge?
Several on a full charge for a typical car; a large diesel in the cold takes more out of it. Recharge it after any use rather than counting.
What if I connect the clamps backwards?
