Service Functions By Job On A GMC

On the tablet you pick the control unit, then the function category, then the routine. GM splits the categories into Control Functions (bidirectional tests) and Configuration/Reset Functions (learns and resets). These are the routines the coverage database lists for GMC, grouped by the job you are doing. Names are as they appear on the tablet. Coverage varies by model and year, so check yours before you order.

• Harsh or flared shifts after a transmission fluid service or rebuild: Transmission Adaptive Pressure Reset, then Transmission Service Fast Learn in the TCM.
• StabiliTrak or traction light after an alignment, rack or steering column job: Steering Wheel Angle Sensor Learn and Centering, plus Yaw Rate Sensor Learn in the brake and sensor modules.
• Rough idle after a throttle body cleaning or a battery change: Idle Learn and Fuel Trim Reset in the Engine control module.
• Tire pressure light after new sensors or a wheel rotation on a truck that reads position: Tire Pressure Sensors Learn in the Body Control Module.

Frequently Asked Questions

Will it do the crankshaft variation relearn on my Sierra after a crank sensor?

Yes. Crankshaft Position Variation Learn is in the engine module's Configuration/Reset Functions, and it is the routine that clears the learn required code after a sensor, chain or engine job. Check your year and engine in the coverage checker first.

Can it relearn the transmission on my Yukon after a fluid service?

Yes. Transmission Adaptive Pressure Reset and Transmission Service Fast Learn are in the TCM function list. The transmission adaptation guide walks through the order.

I have a Duramax. Can it enter new injector values?

The function list includes Fuel Injector Correction Value Preset, the per cylinder Injector Flow Identifier entries and the copy between the ECM and the Glow Plug Control Module, plus the DPF, catalyst and NOx sensor resets. Confirm your model year in the coverage checker before you buy for that job.

Does it program keys or flash modules?

No. Programming and key work need the GM server. The UCAN-II Pro does diagnosis, live data, control functions and the configuration and reset routines listed above.
