Service Functions By Job On A Lincoln

What The Scanner Sees On A Lincoln

Symptom, Then The Routine That Fixes It

• Battery warning, stop start off or odd electrical behavior after a new battery: BMS (Battery Monitoring System) Reset in the body control module.
• Rear pads on a Lincoln with the electric parking brake: Electronic Integrated Park Brake Maintenance Mode to retract the motors, then the Apply and Release Test when you are done.
• Spongy pedal after a caliper, line or hydraulic control unit replacement: BleedMASTER in the ABS module cycles the valves while you bleed.

Frequently Asked Questions

Will it reset the battery monitoring system on my 2017 Lincoln MKX after a new battery?

Yes. BMS (Battery Monitoring System) Reset sits in the body control module's Special Functions menu. Run it after the new battery is in and the charging strategy starts over for a fresh battery.

Can I do rear pads on my Lincoln Continental or Corsair with the electric parking brake?

Yes. Electronic Integrated Park Brake Maintenance Mode retracts the motors so the pistons can be pushed back, and the Apply and Release Test confirms it afterward. The parking brake guide walks through it.

Will it bleed the ABS on my Navigator after a brake line?
