Symptom, Then The Routine That Fixes It

• Spongy pedal after a caliper, line or ABS unit job: Basic setting/bleed brake system on the 03 ABS address, which cycles the hydraulic unit while you bleed.
• ESP warning after an alignment or a steering rack: Basic Setting Steering Angle Sensor G85, and the G200, G201 and G251 sensors when the module asks for them.
• Rough idle after a throttle body cleaning or replacement: Adapting throttle valve control module on 01.
• Harsh or hunting DSG shifts after a fluid service or a mechatronic repair: Reset transm ctrl mod adaptation values, then Basic setting, Mechatronics without coupling, on 02.
• Particulate filter warning on a TDI or a gas particulate filter car: Check DPF ash load first, then Particle filter service regeneration or Gas particulate filter service regeneration on 01.
• New battery fitted: Battery parameterization when battery replaced on 61, so the charging strategy matches the new battery.

Frequently Asked Questions

I have a 2022 ID.4. What do I need?

The UCAN-II Pro plus the DoIP adapter. The ID.4, ID. Buzz, Golf Mk8 and the later Tiguan, Arteon and Atlas builds run their diagnostics over Ethernet, and without the adapter most modules stay hidden.

Will it reset the DSG adaptation on my 2012 GTI?

Yes. The 02 transmission module has reset adaptation values, the mechatronics basic setting and the move to neutral routine, and the transmission adaptation guide walks through the sequence. It also checks ATF level on the cars that support it.

My EPC light is on after a throttle body cleaning. Can it do the alignment?

Yes. Throttle valve control module adaptation is in the engine guided functions, and the same menu holds the injector adaptation reset, the fuel system bleed and the particle filter regeneration.

Does it do SFD unlock, component protection or keys?

No. Those need VW server access through ODIS. The UCAN-II Pro does diagnosis, live data, output tests, basic settings, adaptations, local coding and the guided functions listed above.
