Rent the YOUCANIC UCAN-II Pro full system scanner for a week, use it on as many cars as you like, and send it back with the prepaid label. If you decide to keep it, what you already paid becomes the price of the scanner.
What You Pay Today, And What Comes Back
Checkout charges $385. That is the $85 rental fee, which is not refundable, plus a $300 security deposit, which is refunded to your original payment method the same or next business day after the scanner arrives back at our shop in its original condition. Your real cost for the week is $85.
Rentals ship to US addresses only. The rental kit does not include the FCA 12+8 adapter; see the fit note below if you drive a 2018 or newer Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep or RAM.
How The Rental Works
- Order. Checkout charges $385: the $85 fee plus the $300 deposit.
- We ship it free. The scanner arrives charged, updated and ready to plug in.
- Your 7 days start on the delivery day. Shipping days in either direction do not count against you.
- Use it on any number of vehicles. Scan every module, run active tests, do the service resets. Call or email us if you get stuck; the first full remote scan is free.
- Send it back. Email support@youcanic.com when you are done and we send the prepaid return label. Ship it within the 7 days to avoid the $10 per day late fee.
- Deposit refunded. The $300 goes back to your card the same or next business day after the scanner arrives in its original condition.

If you want to keep the scanner at the end of the week, email us. The $385 you already paid is the price of an open box UCAN-II Pro, so there is nothing more to pay. You keep the unit in your hands, with the same lifetime free updates and the same 1 year hardware warranty as any open box scanner we sell.
Renting makes sense for one job, or for a week of jobs. Buying makes sense if you own more than one car or plan to do your own repairs for years. The rental lets you make that call with the tool on your bench instead of from a spec sheet.
Before You Rent, Check Fit
- • Only a check engine light? A parts store will read engine codes for free. Rent this when the problem is in any other module: ABS, airbag, transmission, body, hybrid, or when you need an active test or a service reset.
- • 2018 and newer Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep or RAM? Those vehicles lock most modules behind a security gateway. The rental kit does not include the FCA 12+8 bypass adapter. Buy the adapter ($18) with your rental and keep it, or email us first.
- • 1996 to 2002 Mercedes-Benz with the round 38 pin socket under the hood? Full system access needs the 38 pin adapter, which is not part of the rental kit. Email us before ordering.
- • Not sure it does what you need? Email the year, make, model and what you are trying to do. We answer before you pay, and renters tell us that is the step that made the week go smoothly.

What does the rental really cost?
$85. Checkout charges $385 because it includes the $300 deposit, and the deposit comes back when the scanner does. Shipping is free in both directions.
When do my 7 days start and end?
They start the day the carrier delivers the scanner and end 7 days later. Ship it back by then to avoid the $10 per day late fee. Days in transit are not counted.
I need more than a week. Can I extend?
Email us before day 7. Extra days past the 7th are $10 each.
Can I keep the scanner?
Yes. Email us and we convert the rental into a purchase. The $385 you paid equals the open box price, so nothing more is charged, and you get the open box warranty and lifetime updates.
Will it work on my car?
It covers 140 plus makes and 1996 and newer OBD2 vehicles, with the deepest coverage on 2000 and newer. If you have a specific job in mind, email the year, make, model and the task before you rent and we will confirm.
Does it include the FCA 12+8 adapter?
No. If you need security gateway access on a 2018 or newer Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep or RAM, add the 12+8 adapter to your order and keep it.
I have never used a scan tool. Is that a problem?
No. The first full remote scan is free: connect the scanner, call us, and a technician walks you through it. You can also post your codes on the youcanic.com support page for free help.
What counts as original condition for the deposit?
The scanner, VCI, cable, charger and case come back working and complete, with normal signs of a week's use. Cracked screens, missing parts or water damage are deducted from the deposit.
Do you ship rentals outside the United States?
No. Rentals ship to US addresses only. The scanner itself ships worldwide; see the UCAN-II Pro page.
