Full Access To Newer BMW, Mercedes, Audi, VW, Porsche, Volvo And Land Rover On Your UCAN-II
Vehicles built on Ethernet based diagnostics (DoIP) hide many of their modules from a standard CAN connection. The YOUCANIC DoIP adapter plugs in between the car and your UCAN-II VCI and opens every module the scanner supports: ADAS, hybrid and EV systems, infotainment, body, and the coding and adaptations that go with them.
Made for YOUCANIC UCAN-II scanners. This adapter is matched to the UCAN-II Pro and earlier UCAN-II models (B, C and D) and their Bluetooth VCI. It is not a universal DoIP cable for other brands. If you own a different YOUCANIC scanner or are not sure which VCI you have, email support@youcanic.com with your order number before buying.
Why Some Modules Do Not Show Up Without It
For twenty years every module in a car talked to the scan tool over CAN. Around 2018 the German brands, and then Volvo and Jaguar Land Rover, began moving their diagnostic link to automotive Ethernet. On these cars the OBD2 port still has CAN pins, so a scanner connects and reads the engine, but the gateway, driver assistance, camera, infotainment and many body modules answer only on the Ethernet pins. Without DoIP the scanner reports fewer modules than the car has, or cannot run a coding or calibration routine on the ones it finds.
The DoIP adapter brings the Ethernet pins of the OBD2 port through to the UCAN-II VCI. The scanner then auto detects the vehicle, builds the full module list, and runs the same functions it runs on a CAN vehicle.
How To Use It
- Plug the DoIP adapter into the vehicle's OBD2 port.
- Plug your UCAN-II Bluetooth VCI into the adapter.
- Key on. Start the scan on the tablet as usual. The scanner detects DoIP automatically; there is no setting to change.
- Leave the adapter in place for the whole session, including coding and adaptations.
Tip: on a vehicle with a weak or dead battery, connect a charger or maintainer before coding. Ethernet modules drop offline below about 12 V, and an interrupted coding session is the one thing you do not want.
Vehicles That Use DoIP
DoIP arrived model by model rather than all at once, so the years below are the point at which most of a model's modules moved to Ethernet. Some late 2017 to 2019 builds already use it. If your scanner shows fewer modules than you expect on one of these brands, the adapter is the fix.

Frequently Asked Questions
How do I know whether my car needs it?
Run a full scan with the UCAN-II. If the module list is short for the car, modules such as the gateway, camera, radar or head unit are missing, or a coding function fails to start on one of the brands above, the car is talking Ethernet and needs the adapter.
Does it work with scanners from other brands?
It is built and tested for the YOUCANIC UCAN-II VCI. Other brands sell their own DoIP cables keyed to their VCIs.
Does it work with the UCAN-HD-A truck scanner?
The UCAN-HD-A ships with its own adapter kit for heavy duty connectors. Email support@youcanic.com before ordering this adapter for a UCAN-HD-A so we can confirm the right part for your VCI.
Do I need it for older BMW and Mercedes models?
No. Cars built before the model years listed above communicate over CAN and the UCAN-II reaches every module without the adapter. For Mercedes models before 2000 with the round 38 pin connector, the 38 pin adapter is the part you want.
Is there a subscription or activation?
No. It is a passive adapter. Plug it in and the scanner recognizes it.
What is the return policy?
31 days, full refund, no restocking fee. Ships from Baltimore, Maryland; free US shipping on orders over $100.
