The Gauge Cluster Your Car Should Have Come With, On Your Phone
The YOUCANIC UCAN-GO is a Bluetooth 5.1 OBD2 adapter that streams live speed, RPM, coolant temperature, engine load and battery voltage straight from your engine computer to a free app, times your acceleration runs, mirrors a heads up display onto the windshield, logs every drive, and reads and clears check engine codes. One price, no subscription, ever. It is the same adapter we put in the box with every new UCAN-II Pro.
What It Does, And What It Does Not Do
UCAN-GO is a live dashboard and an engine code reader. It reads and clears check engine light codes and shows everything the engine computer reports. It does not reach ABS, airbag, transmission, TPMS or body modules, and it does not run active tests or service functions. No Bluetooth dongle does that job well.
If you need those, you need the UCAN-II Pro, and it comes with a UCAN-GO in the box.
Three Ways To Watch Your Car
Plug UCAN-GO into the OBD2 port, pair over Bluetooth, and your phone becomes an instrument cluster reading directly from the engine control unit: speed, RPM, coolant temperature, engine load, intake air temperature, manifold pressure, throttle position and battery voltage, updating in real time. Not estimated from GPS, not averaged. The numbers the ECU is working with, as it works with them.
- ✅ Gauge dashboard. Analog style dials for RPM, coolant temperature and fuel rate with a large digital speed readout.
- ✅ Full screen drive view. Landscape twin dial layout with speed and RPM front and center, temperature and fuel rate along the bottom. Flip it to HUD mode and it mirrors onto the windshield from the dash at night.
- ✅ Live curves. Any parameter graphed over time, so you watch trends instead of snapshots: coolant temperature climbing on a grade, fuel trim drifting, charging voltage sagging.
The Gauges Your Dash Never Gave You
- ✅ A real coolant temperature number. Factory gauges are damped and sit dead center across a huge range, and many modern cars replaced the gauge with a warning light that comes on too late. UCAN-GO shows actual degrees and the trend, which is how you catch a failing thermostat while it is still a $30 part.
- ✅ A tachometer, if your car never had one. Base trucks, work vans and economy trims finally get an RPM readout.
- ✅ Live battery and charging voltage. A slow slide in charging voltage is the warning you get before the no start.
- ✅ True speed after a tire change. Bigger tires make the factory speedometer read wrong. UCAN-GO reads what the ECU calculates.
- ✅ Engine load under tow. Load and coolant temperature side by side on long grades, so you back off before something expensive happens.
- ✅ Acceleration timing from the ECU. Built in performance testing times your runs from engine speed data rather than GPS. Run it before and after the intake, the tune or the tires and compare real numbers.
Every Drive Logged, Every Code Explained
Trip history records distance, duration, hard braking events and rapid acceleration counts without you touching anything. Review a spirited drive, keep records for rideshare or a small fleet, or hand a new teen driver an honest report card.
When the check engine light comes on, UCAN-GO reads and clears engine trouble codes against a built in database of 35,901 codes, and the AI code search explains what the code means and what to check first. Freeze frame captures the sensor conditions at the moment the fault set. I/M readiness monitors tell you whether the car will pass emissions before you drive to the station. Mode 6 shows on board test results before a code ever triggers.
Clear the light after the repair. If the fault is still there, the light comes back, which tells you the repair did not hold.
Who UCAN-GO Is For
- • Enthusiasts who want live gauges, HUD mode and real acceleration numbers their dash never offered
- • Anyone driving a car whose cluster hides more than it shows
- • Drivers who want to understand the check engine light before calling a shop
- • Parents and small fleet owners who want every trip logged automatically
Who should skip it: anyone who needs ABS, airbag or transmission codes, active tests or TPMS programming. Go straight to the UCAN-II Pro.
Set Up In Under Two Minutes
- Download the free OBDII AI app from the App Store or Google Play (listed as OBD-AI on Android). No account required.
- Plug the adapter into the OBD2 port, usually under the driver side dash near the steering column.
- Turn the ignition on and pair over Bluetooth. The gauges are live.
The OBD2 port stays powered with the ignition off and the adapter has no sleep mode, so unplug it if the vehicle will sit for more than a few days. On a car in regular use the 20 to 30 mA draw is not a concern.
Not Another ELM327 Clone
Live gauges are only as good as the data behind them. The cheap adapters flooding online marketplaces run counterfeit or trimmed ELM327 chips that drop connections on modern CAN vehicles and return unreliable numbers, which is worse than no gauge at all. UCAN-GO is built on a genuine Microchip PIC18F25K80 automotive controller with Bluetooth 5.1 and supports all nine OBD2 protocols, including both CAN bus speeds and both CAN ID lengths.
Which Vehicles Work
Any vehicle built to the OBD2 or EOBD standard with a 16 pin port within reach of the driver seat: United States 1996 and newer, Japan 1998 and newer, Europe 2001 and newer gasoline and 2004 and newer diesel, the rest of Asia generally 2008 and newer. Gasoline and diesel engines are supported wherever the vehicle reports standard OBD2 data.
Hybrids: supported. When the gasoline engine shuts off and the car runs on the battery, the RPM gauge reads zero and engine data pauses until the engine restarts. That is the car working correctly, not a fault.
Electric vehicles: most EVs do not report standard OBD2 engine data. Expect limited or no support.

Competitor features compared as of August 2026 from publicly available product information. Verify current specifications and pricing with each manufacturer. The pattern worth noticing: the premium adapters can show this data, but only after you buy a separate app. UCAN-GO ships with the dashboard included.

Frequently Asked Questions
Does it work as a heads up display?
Yes. HUD mode mirrors speed and RPM onto the windshield when the phone sits on the dash, for night driving and for cars without a factory HUD.
Can it show coolant temperature if my car only has a warning light?
Yes, in degrees with a live trend graph, on vehicles that report it. It is one of the most common reasons owners install one.
Can it time 0 to 60 acceleration?
Yes. Performance testing times the run from ECU speed data rather than GPS estimation.
Do I need a separate paid app?
No. The gauge dashboard, HUD, live curves, performance timing and code reading are all in the free OBDII AI app. Several competing adapters need a paid third party app for live data.
Will it turn off my check engine light?
Yes. Read the code, make the repair, clear the light from the app. If the fault is still present the light returns.
Does it read ABS, airbag, transmission or TPMS codes?
No. Engine codes only. For every module, active tests and TPMS programming, use the UCAN-II Pro.
Does it work on hybrids and EVs?
Hybrids yes, with engine data pausing while the car runs on battery. Most EVs do not report standard OBD2 engine data, so expect limited or no support.
Can I leave it plugged in?
On a car you drive regularly, yes. It draws 20 to 30 mA continuously because the port is always powered, so unplug it if the vehicle will sit for weeks, or if the battery is old.
Where is the OBD2 port?
On nearly every 1996 and newer vehicle it is within reach of the driver seat, usually under the dash near the steering column, sometimes behind a small trim panel or in the center console.
Is this the same adapter that comes with the UCAN-II Pro?
Yes. Every new UCAN-II Pro ships with a UCAN-GO. Buy one here for a second car, or for the family member who only needs the dashboard and the code reader.
Who supports it?
