22 Inches Of Slack Between The Car's OBD2 Port And Your Scanner.
Some OBD2 ports sit where nothing fits: angled behind the knee bolster, tucked above the pedals, buried in a console cubby. This extension cable plugs into the port and brings a second port out to where your hand is, so the UCAN-II Pro VCI, a UCAN-GO or any other scan tool seats fully and stays out of the way of your feet.
When You Need One
- ✅ The VCI will not seat or sticks into your knee. On many cars the port is angled or recessed. The extension lets the UCAN-II Pro VCI hang free where it clicks in fully and its light stays visible.
- ✅ You leave a dongle plugged in. A UCAN-GO or other always on adapter can be routed up out of the footwell instead of sitting where a boot finds it.
- ✅ The port is buried. Older cars hide the port behind an ashtray door or a trim flap that will not close around a plug. Run the cable out and close the flap on the thin cable.
- ✅ You plug in all day. Shops keep one on the cart and let the cheap cable take the wear instead of the customer's port.
What It Is, And What It Is Not
A straight extension: a 16 pin OBD2 plug on one end for the car, a 16 pin OBD2 socket on the other for your scanner, 22 inches of cable between them. It adds no electronics and changes nothing about what your scanner can do. It does not include a VCI, a scanner or any software.
Plug it into the car's port first, then plug your VCI or scan tool cable into the socket end. Pull it out by the plug, not the cable, and it will last for years.

Frequently Asked Questions
Does it come with the VCI or a scanner?
No. It is the cable only. The UCAN-II Pro ships with its VCI; this is for routing that VCI, a UCAN-GO or another tool to a better spot.
Will it slow down the scanner or drop the connection?
No. At this length a straight cable makes no difference to diagnostics. If a VCI connects badly on the extension, check that both ends are pushed home; a half seated plug is the usual cause.
Does it work with other brands of scan tool?
Yes. Any tool with a standard 16 pin OBD2 plug fits the socket end.
Can I leave it plugged in all the time?
The cable itself draws nothing. Whatever you plug into the far end behaves exactly as it would in the car's own port, so a dongle that is fine to leave in place stays fine on the extension.
Is it long enough to reach the passenger seat or the bench?
22 inches gets the socket out from under the dash to about the center console on most cars. It is not a bench harness.
