YOUCANIC UCAN-II Pro Open Box Scanner, Full System Bidirectional OBD2, Tested and Unregistered, Same 1 Year Warranty and Lifetime Free Updates
Easy Returns
If you don't love it, return it within 31 days. No questions, no stocking fees.
The Same UCAN-II Pro. Same Warranty. Same Lifetime Updates. $100 Less.
An open box UCAN-II Pro is a scanner that came back to us, was tested on a vehicle, wiped, and left unregistered so it activates in your name like a new one. You get the full system bidirectional scanner, the 1 year hardware warranty, the 31 day return window and free updates for life, for $385 instead of $485. Only the box has been opened.
What Open Box Means At YOUCANIC
These are UCAN-II Pro units that were opened and returned inside the 31 day window, or came back from a short rental. Each one is tested on a vehicle in our Baltimore shop, reset, updated to current software, and unregistered. It may show light handling marks. It is not refurbished hardware and not an older version: current hardware version D, the same unit on the UCAN-II Pro page.
Quantities are whatever came back that month. If the page says sold out, the new unit is $100 more and ships the same day.

Why $100 Less Is Not A Compromise
Most open box deals trade the warranty or the return window for the discount. This one does not. The scanner registers to you as a new unit, updates for free for as long as you own it, and is covered exactly like a $485 unit. If it is not what you expected, send it back within 31 days.
What you give up: a sealed box, the bonus UCAN-GO dashboard adapter, and possibly a faint mark on the case. What you keep: the tool that owners below used to fix a Tesla the dealer wanted $450 and a month to look at, reset VVT setpoints on a Subaru after a timing chain, and code a VW after a battery swap.
Compared with a used scanner from a marketplace, the difference is the registration. A used tool is often still tied to the first owner's account, with no warranty and no updates. This one is clean.
What Open Box Owners Did With Theirs
12 reviews on this listing, 4.8 average, verified buyers
"Tesla gave me an appointment for 1 month and a pre bill of $450 plus I had to tow it. Inside the scanner was a folder with special features. One had a file for error W026 which matched one of the errors blocking the main battery. I ran the script and boom, everything turned on. One of the best investments I ever made."
"Reset Subaru VVT setpoints after timing chain replacement. Reset battery management in a Mini Cooper S. Reset a Chevy torque converter fault. Helped track down an intermittent VW GTI injector code I have had for years. Works on European, Japanese and American vehicles great."
"Used it on 3 different manufacturers' vehicles, activated all the bidirectional controls, and successfully coded a VW after it lost it due to battery replacement. Everything appears to be identical to the factory tools minus the programming capabilities."
"Total newbie, but support walked me through how to make the most of this tool, and I confirmed the issue and saved hundreds in diagnostic fees."

Frequently Asked Questions
What is different from a new UCAN-II Pro?
The box has been opened and the unit has been used briefly, so it may have light handling marks. It does not include the bonus UCAN-GO dashboard adapter. Everything else, including the FCA 12+8 adapter, the warranty, the return window and lifetime updates, is identical.
Is it the current hardware?
Yes, hardware version D, the same as the new unit sold today.
Is the warranty really the same?
Yes. 1 year hardware warranty and a 31 day money back return window, honored by YOUCANIC in Towson, Maryland.
Will it register to me, and will I get updates?
Yes. Every open box unit is unregistered before it ships. You register it like a new scanner and updates are free for as long as you own it.
Does it include the FCA 12+8 adapter?
Yes. The adapter for 2018 and newer Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep and RAM security gateways is in the box.
Does it include the videoscope?
No. The USB videoscope is sold separately and plugs into the scanner.
Is this the same as keeping a rental scanner?
Yes. If you rent the UCAN-II Pro and decide to keep it, your $385 rental payment is treated as the purchase of an open box unit.
How many do you have?
Only what came back recently; usually a handful. When they are gone the listing shows sold out until the next ones are tested.
