Saturn closed after the 2010 model year, and the no haggle dealer that used to do the relearns went with it. The cars are GM underneath: an Aura is built beside the Pontiac G6, a Vue beside the Pontiac Torrent, an Outlook beside the GMC Acadia, with the same modules, the same Special Functions menu and the same Active Test list. The GM coverage database behind the UCAN-II Pro still lists Saturn as a brand in its 2003 and 2008 model year folders, including the Green Line hybrids with their battery and starter generator modules. The tools below are what we use in our own shop in Maryland to reach every module on a Saturn, run the relearns after a repair, and clear the lights a parts store code reader cannot touch. Service Functions By Job On A Saturn

On the tablet you pick the control unit, then the function category, then the routine. On the 2001 to 2010 GM platforms the categories are Special Functions (learns and resets) and Active Test (bidirectional tests). These are the routines the coverage database lists for a 2008 Saturn Vue and the GM platforms around it, grouped by the job you are doing. Names are as they appear on the tablet. Coverage varies by model and year, so check yours before you order.

What The Scanner Sees On A Saturn

Two vehicles pulled from the coverage database, with the control units the UCAN-II Pro lists on each. Every unit gets fault codes, live data and, where the database shows it, active tests and special functions.

The Pontiac G6 row is there because the Saturn Aura shares its platform and module names with the G6; the database treats the GM brands of the same year as one family.

• P0315 or a misfire code after a crank sensor, timing chain or engine swap: Crankshaft Position (CKP) variation learn in the Engine control module.
• Harsh or flared shifts after a transmission fluid service or rebuild: Reset transmission adaptation in the Transmission control module.
• Spongy pedal after a brake line, caliper or ABS module replacement: Automated bleed in the Electronic brake control module.
• Traction or stability light after an alignment or a steering column job: Steering position sensor calibration in the Power steering control module.
• Rough idle after a throttle body cleaning or a dead battery: Idle learn reset and Fuel trim reset in the Engine control module.
• Green Line hybrid battery replaced: Battery end of life estimated reset in the Battery energy control module, then check Hybrid battery charge hours and SOC in live data.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does the UCAN-II Pro still cover a Saturn now that the brand is gone?

Yes. Saturn lives inside the GM coverage database, under the GM brand folder for its model year, with the same module list and the same Special Functions as the Pontiac and Chevrolet models it was built alongside. The Chevrolet page shows the wider GM function list.

Will it do the crankshaft variation relearn on my Vue or Aura after a crank sensor?

Yes. Crankshaft Position (CKP) variation learn is in the Engine control module's Special Functions on the 2008 Vue in the database, and it is the routine that clears the learn required code after a sensor, chain or engine job. Check your year and engine in the coverage checker first.

Can it read the hybrid battery on my Vue Green Line or Aura Green Line?

Yes. The 2008 Vue in the database lists the Battery energy control module and the Starter/generator control module, with Battery end of life estimated reset, Hybrid battery charge hours, SOC low and high, Contactor control and the APM routines. Confirm your year in the coverage checker before you buy for that job.

Does it program Saturn keys or key fobs?

No. Key and fob programming and module flashing need the GM server. The UCAN-II Pro does diagnosis, live data, active tests and the special functions listed above.

Can I rent it for one job?
