International is an engine story. The coverage database behind the UCAN-HD-A lists the make by engine family, from the 3 Box and DLC engines of the 1990s and early 2000s through the MaxxForce years, the N9, N10 and N13 SCR engines and the A26 that arrived in 2017, and that is how the tablet presents it: pick the engine, not the truck. Symptom, Then The Routine That Fixes It

• DPF lamp, high soot or a derate on an SCR era engine: DPF Regeneration in the engine family's Special Functions, with the live data screen open to watch soot and temperature.
• DEF quality, dosing or heater codes: DEF Supply Pump Override Test, DEF System Leak Test, Actuator DEF Line Heater Test and Actuator DEF Tank Heater Test.
• DEF line will not purge or drain: Actuator DEF Reverting Valve.
• A cylinder that sounds dead or a rough idle: Cylinder Cutout Test in the Active test category, one injector at a time.

Frequently Asked Questions

Will it run a DPF regeneration on my MaxxForce 13 or N13?

DPF Regeneration is a listed special function on the International engine entry, and the SCR era families are where the aftertreatment routines sit. Confirm your exact engine family and model year in the coverage checker before you buy for that job.

My truck has a DEF derate. Which tests does it run?

DEF Supply Pump Override Test, DEF System Leak Test, Actuator DEF Line Heater Test, Actuator DEF Tank Heater Test and Actuator DEF Reverting Valve, all under the engine family's Special Functions, so you can prove the pump, the heaters and the lines before you replace parts.

Can it cut out cylinders on an A26?

Cylinder Cutout Test is the Active test the International entry lists; it runs on the engine families that carry the category, so check the A26 entry for your model year in the coverage checker.

Do I pick International or Navistar on the tablet?

Start with International, which lists the engines by family and year with the service routines. The Navistar entry groups the same engines as 3 Box, DLC, MaxxForce and MWM with ECU information, codes and live data, which is useful when you only know the engine generation.

Which connector does my truck have?
