A modern Alfa Romeo is an FCA car underneath: a Giulia carries 33 to 36 control units in the coverage database, including a Chassis Domain Control Module, active aero modules, adaptive lighting, a haptic lane feedback module and the Security Gateway that keeps parts store readers out of everything but the engine. The tools below are what we use in our own shop in Maryland to reach every module on a Giulia, Stelvio, Tonale or 4C, run the calibrations and resets after a brake, steering or engine repair, and command the components the dealer charges an hour of labor to test. The same database carries the European Alfa range, the Giulietta, MiTo, 159, Brera, Spider, 156, 147, GT, GTV, 166 and 164, with the Bosch, Marelli and Continental control units named one by one. Service Functions By Job On An Alfa Romeo

On the tablet you pick the control unit, then the function category, then the routine. What The Scanner Sees On An Alfa Romeo

The Giulietta is a European market car; it sits in the same database as the Giulia, Stelvio, 4C and Tonale and shows how the older Alfa Romeos list their control units by supplier and part.

Symptom, Then The Routine That Fixes It

• Stability or steering warning after an alignment, a rack or a steering column job: Steering wheel angle sensor offset calibration, then Longitudinal and lateral sensor calibration in the ABS and chassis modules.
• Brake warning after a brake pressure sensor or ABS unit replacement: Brake pressure sensor calibration, Inlet valve calibration and Pilot valve calibration in the ABS module.
• Rough idle or a stall after a throttle body cleaning or an engine control module swap: Motorized throttle learning and Adaptive parameters reset in the ECM.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need the 12+8 adapter for my 2019 Giulia or Stelvio?

Yes. The 2018 and newer Giulia, Stelvio and Tonale carry the SGW Security Gateway Module, and without the adapter the scanner sees engine codes and little else. The FCA 12+8 adapter comes in the UCAN-II Pro box; plug it in behind the gateway under the dash and every module answers.

Will it calibrate the steering angle sensor on my Giulia after an alignment?

Yes. Steering wheel angle sensor offset calibration and Longitudinal and lateral sensor calibration are in the Special Fun list for the ABS and chassis modules, next to the brake pressure sensor and inlet and pilot valve calibrations.

Can it run a DPF regeneration and the AdBlue resets on a diesel Alfa?

Yes. Particulate filter regeneration, Particulate filter replacement and Differential pressure sensor replacement sit in the engine module, and the DCU carries Reset the tank, Reset the pump, Reset the injector/Reducing Dosing Unit and Reset the first filling. Most of these cars are European market, so check your engine in the coverage checker.

Does it program keys or flash modules on an Alfa Romeo?

No. Key programming, the code card startup and module flashing need the FCA server. The UCAN-II Pro does diagnosis, live data, active tests, system tests and the calibrations and resets listed above.

Can I rent it for one job?
